Sundays at Sunny's is back on September 12th with Anthony McCann reading from his debut poetry collection Father of Noise; Blake Nelson's new novel, Rock Star Superstar, about a teenage bass player with a shot at the big leagues; and Josip Novakovich's first novel, April Fool's Day, a fictional biography of one man living through the tumultuous collapse of Yugoslavia. 3 pm at Sunny's legendary bar, 253 Conover St. between Beard and Reed. Suggested donation: $3. Cash bar. Free coffee and italian pastry. |

Van Brunt between Van Dyke and Coffey St. It's the hottest block in the Hook for new business. First there was the opening of LeNell's Wine & Spirits, and then there was Red Hook Pet Provisions. Now, directly accross the street at 393 Van Brunt, is the open-air Red Hook Flea Market. Space still available for vendors. Weekends 10 am-Sunset. |

The Red Hook Farmers Market -- now in its fourth year --has fruits and vegetables and great local produce homegrown down on the Red Hook Farm by neighborhood kids working with Added Value. (They also supply local restaurants). Weds. 10am-2pm across from the Senior Center (6 Wolcott St.) and Sats. 9am-3pm at the Red Hook Farm (aka Todd Memorial Park) Van Dyke and Otsego St. |
