Red Hook has a wide range of businesses, not-for-profit organizations and recreational facilities that contribute to its diverse community infrastructure.

On weekends, The Red Hook Food Vendors offer authentic Latin fare during the summer at the Red Hook Ballfields.  Red Hook Films offers free movies to our community during the summer at Valentino Pier.  We donate 20,000 square feet of space to BWAC, which has become Brooklyn’s largest artist-run organization so that they can offer a wide range of programs promoting Brooklyn artists and the art of today.  Added-Value has promoted sustainable food growth by offering programs which develop knowledge and skills for individuals within our community.  Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation provides advocacy and services to help businesses in the Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus neighborhoods grow and create employment opportunities for local residents.

There are many retail businesses from unique shops such as Metal and Thread,  to fine restaurants such as The Good Fork, to dive bars such as Bait and Tackle. The scene in Red Hook offers something for everyone and up until now it has been our little secret.
